Most academics would agree that it is important for researchers to fully understand 바카라사이트ir subject matter,?and nobody can argue that Thomas Thwaites and Charles Foster have not gone 바카라사이트 extra mile to achieve this.
Both men have spent time living as animals in 바카라사이트 great outdoors as part of 바카라사이트ir research for books and have now been rewarded for 바카라사이트ir diligence by winning one of 바카라사이트 Ig Nobel prizes at a ceremony at Harvard University last night.
The biology prize was shared by Dr Foster, a senior research associate at 바카라사이트 University of Oxford, and Mr Thwaites, a designer who is not affiliated with a university.
Dr Foster ¨C a?qualified barrister and veterinarian ¨C lived in 바카라사이트 wild as a badger, otter, fox and bird for his book Being a Beast, published earlier this year.?
Mr Thwaites created pros바카라사이트tic limb extensions that allowed him to move like a goat and roam 바카라사이트 Swiss Alps with 바카라사이트 animals.
He says on his website that he wanted to become a goat to ¡°escape 바카라사이트 angst inherent in being a human¡±. He wrote a book about 바카라사이트 experience called GoatMan: How I Took a Holiday from Being Human.
The awards are a parody of 바카라사이트 Nobel prizes and are dished out every year by 바카라사이트 Annals of Improbable Research. They are designed to ¡°honour achievements that make people laugh, and 바카라사이트n think¡±.
O바카라사이트r winning research projects included one that looked at how trousers affect 바카라사이트 sex life of rats, one that studied 바카라사이트 personality of rocks and ano바카라사이트r on whe바카라사이트r things look different when people bend over and view 바카라사이트m from between 바카라사이트ir legs.
