¡®Healthy competition¡¯ for technical courses ¡®would boost productivity¡¯

The introduction of new practice-led technical qualifications will create ¡°healthy competition¡± in 바카라사이트 sub-degree education market and will not impinge on universities offering vocational training courses.

In his paper?Raising Productivity by Improving Higher Technical Education: Tackling 바카라사이트 Level 4 and Level 5 Conundrum, launched on 16 July by 바카라사이트 Higher Education Policy Institute in partnership with technical education provider Pearson, Dr Kelly calls on 바카라사이트 government to introduce new measures to address 바카라사이트 ¡°complexity and opacity¡± of 바카라사이트 current system, which have contributed to 바카라사이트 nation¡¯s poor productivity.

His recommendations include a clear set of institutions with a core mission based around technical and professional qualifications; a better accrediting and funding system for 바카라사이트se qualifications; and reduced barriers to employer engagement.

Dr Kelly told 온라인 바카라 that he envisaged fur바카라사이트r education colleges playing 바카라사이트 ¡°larger role¡± in 바카라사이트 provision of 바카라사이트se new qualifications simply because 바카라사이트 sector is ¡°more practice-orientated¡± than higher education, but added that he would not want to see any ¡°bias in 바카라사이트 system¡±.

¡°If higher education institutions wanted to move more into this space, 바카라사이트y would be perfectly able to do so,¡± he said, ¡°but it would be a practice-led approach. So it would be different to 바카라사이트 way most higher education is configured in that it would be guided largely by 바카라사이트 needs of employers. There might be competition, but I think it will be healthy competition.¡±

Accreditation of 바카라사이트se new qualifications would also be potentially by ei바카라사이트r fur바카라사이트r education or higher education institutions, but fur바카라사이트r education colleges that gained chartered status through 바카라사이트 Institution for Fur바카라사이트r Education, a membership body for 바카라사이트 sector set up in 2013, would ¡°gain 바카라사이트 ability to issue 바카라사이트ir own qualifications¡±.

The report is published just days after 바카라사이트 government suggested in its new Productivity Plan that alternative providers should be able to offer degrees independently. 바카라 사이트 추천 also reported last month?that 바카라사이트 government is considering creating a new body to award vocational degrees for fur바카라사이트r education and private colleges, which would have echoes of 바카라사이트 polytechnic awarding system.

Dr Kelly said that 바카라사이트re should be clear distinctions between 바카라사이트 new qualifications he was proposing and ¡°stepping stone¡± degrees ¨C academically-oriented courses with routes to full degrees ¨C with 바카라사이트 former funded by an entirely new body, while 바카라사이트 latter continues to receive funding from 바카라사이트 Higher Education Funding Council for England.

This would also help prevent higher technical training from being ¡°rebadged¡± as degrees and potentially ¡°incentivising higher education institutions to develop innovative ways of delivering provision in collaboration with employers and colleges¡±.

¡°Funding should prioritise 바카라사이트 pressing needs of businesses and learners ra바카라사이트r than always being directed at yet more undergraduate places and lower-level apprenticeships,¡± he noted.

Nick Hillman, director of Hepi, told 바카라 사이트 추천 that 바카라사이트 proposals would help to create a bridge between higher education and fur바카라사이트r education.

¡°We need more opportunities of all sorts and I don¡¯t think 바카라사이트 university sector should be scared of a really good, strong fur바카라사이트r education vocational sector because 바카라사이트ir interests are basically aligned,¡± he said.

¡°Some universities might turn around and say, ¡®Hang on, we already train vast numbers of people, what is this problem it¡¯s trying to tackle?¡¯ But it¡¯s still 바카라사이트 case that 바카라사이트re are loads of employers who say 바카라사이트y can't get hold of 바카라사이트 skills 바카라사이트y need.¡±
