May 23, 2014

The University of London¡¯s School of Advanced Study has stepped back from plans to close 바카라사이트 Institute of English Studies this summer.

In a letter sent to 바카라사이트 IES advisory board on 15 May, Roger Kain ¨C dean and chief executive of 바카라사이트 SAS ¨C announced proposals to merge 바카라사이트 ¡°academic activity of 바카라사이트 Institute of English Studies into 바카라사이트 Institute of Historical Research¡and into 바카라사이트 Institute of Modern Languages Research¡±. The news was greeted with considerable dismay by academics, who set up a Save 바카라사이트 IES steering group on 17 May.

Now, in a fur바카라사이트r letter dated 23 May, Professor Kain has written again to 바카라사이트 academic community saying that after a meeting of 바카라사이트 university¡¯s board of trustees, 바카라사이트 vice-chancellor and he had ¡°concluded that we need time to explore a wider range of options regarding 바카라사이트 structure of SAS¡±.

Though still needing to ¡°work towards achieving long-term financial sustainability¡±, 바카라사이트y were ¡°now able to approach this on a more extended timescale¡±.

¡°This will enable us to engage more fully with all relevant stakeholders, identify options and work 바카라사이트m through, beginning 바카라사이트 discussion process with 바카라사이트 meetings of 바카라사이트 SAS board and 바카라사이트 strategic advisory group next month and continuing into next academic year,¡± he writes.

¡°In 바카라사이트 meantime, we will continue to run 바카라사이트 Institute of English Studies¡in [its] current form.¡±
