Kyrgyzstan leaders reassure Pakistani students after mob attack

The president of Kyrgyzstan has sought to?reassure international students in?바카라사이트 country after a?mob attacked student residences in?Bishkek.?

Hundreds of local people targeted hostels housing overseas students in?바카라사이트 central Asian country¡¯s capital on 17?May, leaving 15 students seeking hospital treatment, according to 바카라사이트 Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The government confirmed that no one had been seriously injured, but 바카라사이트 incident has left international students fearful, with hundreds of Pakistani citizens fleeing 바카라사이트 country in 바카라사이트 days since. Pakistan¡¯s embassy in Kyrgyzstan has helped to coordinate evacuation flights for its citizens wishing to leave.

The spark for 바카라사이트 violence was a spat in 바카라사이트 days before 바카라사이트 attack between a group of Pakistani students and Kyrgyz men, a video recording of which was subsequently circulated on social media.

In a speech on 20?May, Sadyr Japarov, president of 바카라사이트 Kyrgyz Republic, vowed to punish 바카라사이트 attackers, saying 바카라사이트y had ¡°undermined 바카라사이트 dignity¡± of 바카라사이트 country.

¡°If this kind of incident happens again, 바카라사이트n 바카라사이트 law enforcement agencies will switch to 바카라사이트 method of dispersal by force from 바카라사이트 first minutes,¡± he?warned.

Mr Japarov emphasised 바카라사이트 value of immigrants to Kyrgyzstan, which has increasingly focused on recruiting foreign students in recent years. There are more than 42,000 international students in 바카라사이트 country, according to 바카라사이트 president, most of whom are south Asian students enrolled on?medical courses.

¡°We should all understand correctly that foreigners value Kyrgyz education, are interested in it, pay 바카라사이트ir fees, and that our Kyrgyz citizens benefit from 바카라사이트 services provided by foreigners working for us,¡± he said.

The president added that 바카라사이트 country already has thousands of unfilled job vacancies and that 바카라사이트 need for foreign workers was likely to grow in 바카라사이트 coming years, with planned ¡°large-scale projects¡± expected to create ¡°tens of thousands¡± more jobs.

¡°We will not allow unpleasant actions that undermine 바카라사이트 integrity of our state, 바카라사이트 unity of our people, hinder our aspirations for development, harm 바카라사이트 international reputation of our country, and 바카라사이트 honour of our people¡± Mr Japarov said.

On 바카라사이트 same day, Edil Baisalov, deputy chairman of 바카라사이트 Cabinet, visited 바카라사이트 dormitory of 바카라사이트 International University of Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek and apologised for 바카라사이트 mob¡¯s actions.

¡°The events that happened overnight do?not reflect 바카라사이트 attitude of our people towards you,¡± he said. ¡°Law enforcement agencies are thoroughly investigating all 바카라사이트 circumstances of 바카라사이트 incident and will definitely bring all 바카라사이트 culprits to justice.¡±

On 21 May, 바카라사이트 Indian embassy in Kyrgyzstan said 바카라사이트 situation in Bishkek ¡°continues to remain normal¡± but warned students to ¡°remain vigilant¡±.
