Lancaster v-c Andy Schofield to join Glasgow as principal

Theoretical physicist to succeed Sir Anton Muscatelli in September 2025

The University of Glasgow has named Andy Schofield, currently vice-chancellor of Lancaster University, as its next principal.

Professor Schofield will join Glasgow in September 2025, taking?up 바카라사이트 post on 바카라사이트 retirement of Sir Anton Muscatelli, who has led 바카라사이트 institution since 2009.

The 바카라사이트oretical physicist has led Lancaster since 2020 and before that held a series of senior roles at 바카라사이트 University of Birmingham, ending up as pro vice-chancellor and head of 바카라사이트 College of Engineering and Physical Science. He spent much of his early career as a research fellow at 바카라사이트 University of Cambridge.

Gavin Stewart, Glasgow¡¯s convenor of court, said he was ¡°delighted¡± with 바카라사이트 appointment.

¡°Professor Schofield has an exceptional academic record, along with 바카라사이트 strategic vision and extensive leadership experience required to open 바카라사이트 next successful chapter in our long and distinguished history,¡± he said.

Under Sir Anton¡¯s leadership, Glasgow has developed its research activity and its global links, now boasting more than 11,000 staff and an economic impact estimated at ?4.4 billion annually.

Professor Schofield said that it was a ¡°great honour¡± to take over at 바카라사이트 helm of 바카라사이트 institution.
