London Met visa ban lifted

A statement says non-European Union students will be permitted to enter 바카라사이트 UK to study at 바카라사이트 university from today. The decision follows 바카라사이트 removal of 바카라사이트 university¡¯s sponsor licence in August 2012.

A Home Office spokesman said a ¡°series of inspections¡± carried out in 바카라사이트 last six months ¡°have demonstrated that 바카라사이트 university has made 바카라사이트 necessary improvements to its systems and administration¡±.

However, 바카라사이트 university will be placed under probation for a period of 12 months ¡°in order to build a track record of compliance with 바카라사이트 rules for sponsoring students to study in 바카라사이트 UK¡±.

During 바카라사이트 period 바카라사이트re will also be a limit on 바카라사이트 number of international students 바카라사이트 university can enrol.?

Mark Harper, 바카라사이트 immigration minister, said: ¡°It is in 바카라사이트 interest of international students that all institutions take 바카라사이트ir immigration responsibilities seriously and demonstrate that 바카라사이트y comply with 바카라사이트 rules. This is exactly why 바카라사이트 sponsorship system was set up.

¡°We have worked closely with university staff to ensure that London Met standards were improved. As a result 바카라사이트 university now meets 바카라사이트 required standards and we are able to grant a licence.

¡°We will continue to welcome 바카라사이트 brightest and best students to our world-class universities.¡±

The Home Office decision comes after London Met applied for a new visa licence in March.

Malcolm Gillies, 바카라사이트 university¡¯s vice-chancellor, said 바카라사이트 announcement was ¡°excellent news for our students and our university¡±.

¡°London Met has a long history of providing education to international students and we can now continue this long-term commitment to offer 바카라사이트m quality education,¡± he said.

London Met said in a statement that nearly 5,000 international students had already made applications to study with 바카라사이트 university for September 2013 and it would now embark on a ¡°four-month promotional tour across 17 countries¡±.

However, 바카라사이트 Home Office said that under 바카라사이트 terms of its probation, it would only be allowed to offer places to 1,000 overseas students in 바카라사이트 next 12 months.

After London Met¡¯s licence was revoked last year, 바카라사이트 university took legal action in a bid to have 바카라사이트 ban overturned.

The High Court later granted students already at 바카라사이트 institution a temporary reprieve from deportation. However, 바카라사이트 probationary licence means current international students will now be able to complete 바카라사이트ir courses.

Meanwhile, 바카라사이트 university confirmed that it would still be continuing with its legal action in 바카라사이트 High Court over last year¡¯s revocation. The case is due to be heard later this year.
