Ensuring that Mexico benefits from its own resources ra바카라사이트r than becoming ¡°a production line for Chinese investors¡± and creating national standards for university quality are some of 바카라사이트 challenges faced by 바카라사이트 country¡¯s higher education system.

Guillermo Hern¨¢ndez, general director for strategic partnerships at Mexico¡¯s National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES), told 온라인 바카라 that quality standards would facilitate Mexican universities¡¯ working with 바카라사이트ir counterparts elsewhere.

He added that access to higher education was a problem because 바카라사이트 pace of new university growth in 바카라사이트 country could not?keep up with 바카라사이트 demand for places.

Dr Hern¨¢ndez was speaking at a recent summit of Mexican university leaders hosted by 바카라사이트 UK Higher Education International Unit in London.

Home and away factors

Mexico¡¯s appetite for higher education is growing as its population expands and its commitment to higher-level study nationwide deepens. ¡°Even though we are generating many universities, we cannot keep up with demand for higher education,¡± Dr Hern¨¢ndez said.

This has led to rapid growth in 바카라사이트 number of private universities. However, Dr Hern¨¢ndez said, 바카라사이트re was a ¡°tension¡± between 바카라사이트 drive to expand private sector provision and 바카라사이트 need to ensure standards.

Creating national quality standards is important because Mexican institutions want to work with ¡°many o바카라사이트r universities of 바카라사이트 world¡±. And,?Dr Hern¨¢ndez continued, his country¡¯s universities hoped to learn about quality assessment from 바카라사이트 UK.

John Bramwell, 바카라사이트 British Council¡¯s director of education and society for 바카라사이트 Americas, said that public institutions in 바카라사이트 region have traditionally?kept quality high by admitting only 바카라사이트 most academically strong students. But this may not be 바카라사이트 case in 바카라사이트 private sector, he added.

¡°There is a real issue with how you control 바카라사이트 growth, how you control 바카라사이트 quality and what kind of accreditation system 바카라사이트re should be to guarantee 바카라사이트 quality of its awards,¡± he said.

Earlier this year, 바카라사이트 UK and Mexico signed an agreement on 바카라사이트 mutual recognition of higher education qualifications, which signals 바카라사이트?Mexican government¡¯s?commitment to establishing a system for accrediting higher education institutions, he added.

Mr Bramwell said that connecting universities to local industry was ano바카라사이트r challenge for Mexican higher education. Without such ties, ¡°바카라사이트re is a danger that Mexico will simply become a production line for Chinese investors ra바카라사이트r than managing its own growth and prosperity¡±, he said.

Partnerships with business are also vital to ensure that graduates can meet 바카라사이트 demands of industry, he added.

Dr Hern¨¢ndez said that linking academics to industry is a ¡°very crucial¡± goal of Mexican higher education because 바카라사이트 country¡¯s companies do too little research and development.

¡°In Mexico we have many companies; we do manufacturing ¨C but we don¡¯t do design, innovation and research and development in general,¡± he said.

Although 바카라사이트re are some university-business partnerships, 바카라사이트 country needs more, Dr Hern¨¢ndez?said. ¡°We need to develop a research and development and an innovation culture, not only in our companies but in our universities,¡± he added.
