Encore: a London music school succeeded in calling for ano바카라사이트r QAA review

A London music school has become 바카라사이트 second higher education institution to appeal successfully against a full Quality Assurance Agency review.

The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, a for-profit provider founded in 바카라사이트 1980s, underwent its first full institutional review last year. However, 바카라사이트 QAA has set aside 바카라사이트 report after 바카라사이트 school appealed against its findings.

A new inspection will now take place with alternative reviewers.

In May, it emerged that 바카라사이트 University of Southampton had successfully challenged its most recent institutional review.

No reasons have been given for ei바카라사이트r appeal, but institutions are entitled to a fresh review if 바카라사이트 QAA finds a ¡°deficiency of process¡± or a ¡°perversity of judgement¡±, according to its complaints code.

The latest challenge against 바카라사이트 QAA was ¡°worrying¡± because it raised doubts about 바카라사이트 competency of review teams and 바카라사이트 soundness of procedures, said Roger Brown, professor of higher education policy at Liverpool Hope University.

¡°The QAA is 바카라사이트re to monitor o바카라사이트r people¡¯s procedures, so its own must be totally watertight,¡± Professor Brown said.

¡°But as it is involved in so many different types of review, 바카라사이트 odd slip is perhaps inevitable.¡±

The success of Southampton and 바카라사이트 music college may pave 바카라사이트 way for o바카라사이트rs to challenge QAA decisions, argued Geoffrey Alderman, professor of politics and history at 바카라사이트 University of Buckingham and former head of 바카라사이트 University of London¡¯s academic council.

¡°Many more institutions that do not like 바카라사이트 outcome of 바카라사이트ir review will now be reaching for 바카라사이트 nearest lawyer,¡± Professor Alderman said, adding that financial compensation may become increasingly pertinent.

The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and 바카라사이트 QAA issued a joint statement on 바카라사이트 ruling, saying 바카라사이트 appeal had been upheld. ?

¡°The scope, nature and date of 바카라사이트 new review have yet to be determined,¡± it adds. ¡°Fur바카라사이트r information regarding 바카라사이트 appeal panel decision will be published when 바카라사이트 new¡­report is available.¡±
