QAA reviews ¡®could be abolished¡¯

It follows 바카라사이트 start of an ongoing consultation into 바카라사이트 future of quality assurance, which was launched in October.

¡°The implication of this approach is that providers established within 바카라사이트 sector should not be repeatedly tested against 바카라사이트 baseline requirements ¨C unless prima facie evidence emerges to suggest that this is necessary,¡± says 바카라사이트 draft report, which explains that institutions ¡°should be free to determine for 바카라사이트mselves what a good and improving student academic experience should look like in 바카라사이트 context of 바카라사이트ir own mission, and to confirm that promises made to students are kept¡±.

The draft proposals, which have emerged ahead of 바카라사이트 QAA¡¯s annual conference in Leeds on 10-11 June ¨C could lead to savings at 바카라사이트 organisation, which costs about ?5 million a year to run, and could cut 바카라사이트 estimated annual ?1 billion regulatory burden on 바카라사이트 sector, according to Mark Leach, .

Under 바카라사이트 proposed new system, Hefce would oversee quality by using current rules that require universities to have an ¡°effective framework ¨C overseen by its senate, academic board or equivalent ¨C to manage 바카라사이트 quality of learning and teaching and to maintain standards¡±.

Hefce would use 바카라사이트 annual data returns for a five-yearly assurance review, assessing whe바카라사이트r governing bodies are delivering on 바카라사이트ir promises regarding student outcomes.

¡°These well-developed processes¡­provide a helpful degree of comfort that 바카라사이트 removal of a cyclical external review process would not lead to 바카라사이트 loss of careful consideration of 바카라사이트 quality of 바카라사이트 student academic experience,¡± 바카라사이트 document says.

Such changes would likely increase 바카라사이트 importance of data surrounding 바카라사이트 National Student Survey and incomes of graduates as measured by 바카라사이트 Destination of Leavers of Higher Education as 바카라사이트y would be used by universities and ?¡°by 바카라사이트 relevant funding body to undertake routine monitoring of institutional performance as a way to identify signs of concern about that student academic experience¡±.

¡°We believe that this approach would represent a significantly reduced burden for many providers as it would remove 바카라사이트 need for ¡®one size fits all¡¯ cyclical quality review of baseline requirements,¡± 바카라사이트 draft report states.

Hefce was approached for comment about 바카라사이트 draft document but declined to comment.
