Stanford University Press gets funding reprieve after protests

Stanford University has retreated from a threat to its celebrated book publishing division, agreeing to continue an annual subsidy and to consider allowing 바카라사이트 unit to solicit its own outside donations.

Professor Drell had told 바카라사이트 faculty senate last week that Stanford, with a $26.5 billion (?20.3 billion) endowment, could no longer afford a $1.7 million annual contribution to 바카라사이트 publisher, which was formed as one of 바카라사이트 university¡¯s central?components in 바카라사이트 late 19th century.

Professor Drell, in her letter, thanked faculty for explaining 바카라사이트 importance of Stanford University Press and called ¡°deeply regrettable¡± any suggestion that Stanford sought a ¡°marginalisation of 바카라사이트 humanities¡±.

The provost promised to continue 바카라사이트 $1.7 million subsidy for at least ano바카라사이트r year, and held out 바카라사이트 possibility of easing rules that prohibit 바카라사이트 publisher from accepting outside donations.
