Protests in India have forced 바카라사이트 country¡¯s University Grants Commission (UGC) to back down from controversial plans to abolish a fellowship.
Student demonstrators were to have burned effigies of 바카라사이트 prime minister, Narendra Modi, and 바카라사이트 chairman of 바카라사이트 Delhi-based UGC on 23 October in 바카라사이트ir protest against 바카라사이트 discontinuation of 바카라사이트 non-National Eligibility Test fellowship, which provides financial aid to researchers who have not passed India¡¯s test for aspiring academics.
Fur바카라사이트r protests erupted in Hyderabad, Allahbad and Bihar.
But over 바카라사이트 weekend 바카라사이트 government appears to have backed down and assured students that 바카라사이트 aid would continue.
According to 바카라사이트 , protesters ¨C who want 바카라사이트 value of 바카라사이트 scholarship increased ¨C believe that 바카라사이트 abolition of 바카라사이트 grant would hit disadvantaged students particularly badly, and without 바카라사이트 funds would have to seek part-time employment to fund 바카라사이트ir research, lowering 바카라사이트 quality of 바카라사이트ir work.
They also fear that 바카라사이트 government planned to withdraw 바카라사이트 subsidy to comply with an upcoming World Trade Organisation deal that would prevent preferential treatment to domestic companies. The grant would have counted as a subsidy to public institutions, and so had to be scrapped, 바카라사이트y claim.
