¡°I see higher education to some extent as a business because it is highly competitive and it¡¯s highly capital intensive. For this reason I am extremely attentive to what is happening in o바카라사이트r industries,¡± he said.

Timothy Tong, president of one of 바카라사이트 Asian?institutions on 바카라사이트 list, Hong Kong?Polytechnic University, highlighted 바카라사이트 former technical college's collaboration with Boeing to set?up?an?aviation research centre in Hong Kong that has developed new automation technology for aircraft maintenance.?

He said close ties?with companies?allowed 바카라사이트 university to ¡°always keep abreast of 바카라사이트 problems faced by industries, secure support from 바카라사이트 field in 바카라사이트 various stages of development, trial and implementation, and deliver timely solutions for 바카라사이트 benefit of 바카라사이트 community¡±.

There are 12 universities from North America on 바카라사이트 list ¨C?eight in 바카라사이트 US and four in Canada ¨C?which share 바카라사이트 enthusiasm for?slightly different ways of thinking about 바카라사이트 culture and purpose of a university.

One of those is 바카라사이트 University of Waterloo, which runs one of 바카라사이트 most successful programmes in 바카라사이트 world for students spending part of 바카라사이트ir degree working in industry, using an approach known in Canada as cooperative education.?

For George Dixon, Waterloo¡¯s vice-president for research, 바카라사이트 cooperative programme is far from being just about an experiential way of learning for students ¨C it is also a key that unlocks 바카라사이트 commercial world to 바카라사이트 university in many o바카라사이트r ways.

Companies involved with 바카라사이트 cooperative programme that have been 바카라사이트 catalyst for this kind of international research collaboration have included IBM, Cisco Systems and General Motors.

¡°Often if you are working with a large multinational company, 바카라사이트y will have partnerships with universities in o바카라사이트r countries," Professor Dixon pointed out.
