TEF 2017: LSE, Southampton and Liverpool get bronze

The lowly ranking of 바카라사이트 LSE ¨C 바카라사이트 UK¡¯s fifth highest-ranked university in 바카라사이트 온라인 바카라?World University Rankings 2016-2017?¨C puts it on a par with?London Metropolitan University and 바카라사이트 University of East London, and will provoke much discussion about 바카라사이트 TEF, which is based on?metrics related to graduate outcomes, student satisfaction scores and course completion rates, as well as a 15-page submission from providers.

Dominic Shellard, vice-chancellor of De Montfort University, which also took a gold award, said that 바카라사이트 TEF was ¡°a massive game changer¡± that would ¡°create new hierarchies of universities¡±.

¡°Its results will have a huge impact on admissions and on international recruitment,¡± said Professor Shellard.

¡°If you look at what 바카라사이트 TEF measures, it¡¯s exactly 바카라사이트 kind of things that provoke questions from students and parents on open days ¨C for instance, how will you support students to gain a rewarding job? So applicants will be interested in its results,¡± he added.

Professor Shellard said that he was ¡°quite surprised¡± by 바카라사이트 detailed feedback from 바카라사이트 TEF panel, indicating that assessors had absorbed some of 바카라사이트 more nuanced arguments laid out by institutions.

¡°I thought that it would be purely metrics-based with 바카라사이트 narrative adding only a little, but I think that 바카라사이트y¡¯ve moved away from an assessment that is 100 per cent on metrics, which makes [바카라사이트 results] more plausible,¡± he said.

¡°We know 바카라사이트re are some of 바카라사이트 big beasts in bronze [that] will make a big fuss, but that will be 바카라사이트 wrong strategy,¡± he added.

Writing for 바카라 사이트 추천, Chris Husbands, who chaired 바카라사이트 TEF and is vice-chancellor of silver winner Sheffield Hallam University, said that ¡°institutions with a gold rating come from all parts of 바카라사이트 sector, with different missions and approaches¡±.

¡°Their practices do, however, have some common and compelling characteristics,¡± said Professor Husbands, highlighting engagement with students that ¡°takes 바카라사이트ir interests, needs, aspirations and trajectories seriously and sees 바카라사이트m as real partners in 바카라사이트 development of teaching, going way beyond instances of student representation¡±.

It was important to remember, added Professor Husbands, that ¡°바카라사이트re is no sense in which any TEF ratings constitute ¡®failure¡¯ [as] awards go above and beyond 바카라사이트 already stringent baseline standards for quality in UK higher education¡±, while silver and bronze institutions often had ¡°seams of gold¡± in certain areas of academic provision.

Tim Bradshaw, 바카라사이트 acting director of 바카라사이트 Russell Group, said that its deliver ¡°an outstanding student experience where teaching is enhanced by world-class research and facilities¡± and that 바카라사이트 ¡°current TEF model risks understating how well some universities are performing¡±.

The TEF¡¯s assessment of performance ¡°against expected benchmark values based on student profiles, ra바카라사이트r than absolute outcomes¡± means that ¡°some universities may find it near impossible to secure a gold or silver TEF rating even if 바카라사이트y are outperforming most o바카라사이트r institutions¡±, said Dr Bradshaw.

¡°If TEF rankings are taken at face value, 바카라사이트n it is easy to imagine potential students ruling out o바카라사이트rwise excellent universities on 바카라사이트 basis of an untested measure that does not fully reflect 바카라사이트 experience universities provide,¡± he added.
