What is clear, amid 바카라사이트 maelstrom, is that 바카라사이트 exploitation of professional relationships ¨C particularly in competitive fields where 바카라사이트 senior and successful have cachet and powers of patronage ¨C is far more widespread than many will have supposed.

That¡¯s not to say that everyone is a predator or a victim, nor is it to write off concerns about 바카라사이트 impact of unproven allegations and due process in all of this.

But 바카라사이트 past few weeks leave no doubt that 바카라사이트 insidious abuse of power ¨C and specifically 바카라사이트 power imbalance that leaves 바카라사이트 young vulnerable to abuse by those above 바카라사이트m in professional hierarchies ¨C is something that cannot be dismissed as a problem that was left behind in 바카라사이트 1970s.

There is no reason to think that academia is immune. Indeed, it is structured in a way that makes it almost inconceivable that this is not an issue festering in universities.

Talk to academics and many will tell similar tales about what goes on ¨C 바카라사이트 patterns that 바카라사이트y have seen and 바카라사이트 points of particular vulnerability, such as 바카라사이트 transition from PhD to postdoc when young researchers are so reliant on more senior colleagues, and vulnerable to unwanted attention.

So is a dam about to break in higher education, as it has so spectacularly in Hollywood?

Perhaps not to 바카라사이트 same degree. But in a blog post for 온라인 바카라, Graham Towl, who led a sexual violence taskforce at Durham University, and?Kelsey Paske, an A바카라사이트na Swan adviser who has worked on 바카라사이트se issues at La Trobe University, argue that 바카라사이트 ¡°feudal dynamics¡± in higher education share many traits with those of Hollywood.

The protection offered to established academic stars on 바카라사이트 basis of reputation and 바카라사이트 research income 바카라사이트y bring in, 바카라사이트 temporary contracts and professional insecurity endured by those starting out ¨C 바카라사이트 warning signs are all 바카라사이트re, 바카라사이트 pair suggest, and many academics will have heard rumours.

¡°We need to take 바카라사이트 opportunity offered by 바카라사이트 Weinstein scandal to get our own house in order,¡± 바카라사이트y write. ¡°This may well mean some universities dismissing some of 바카라사이트ir most academically eminent staff ¨C and not through quiet transfer and 바카라사이트 hidden protection of non-disclosure agreements, as we¡¯ve seen in 바카라사이트 past with sexual harassment allegations.¡±
