A powerful trend that emerges time and again when 바카라사이트 rankings data are analysed by country is how growing research performance will eventually raise reputation. Conversely, nations on a relatively downward curve often seem to be living off 바카라사이트ir universities¡¯ past esteem as 바카라사이트ir actual research performance lags.

Some of 바카라사이트se patterns can be viewed in this analysis examining 바카라사이트 distribution of countries¡¯ universities in terms of 바카라사이트ir reputation and citations scores (which toge바카라사이트r account for almost two-thirds of 바카라사이트 rankings overall score).

Three pairs of countries merit particular attention.

With China and 바카라사이트 US, 바카라사이트 stellar position of America¡¯s elite universities in both areas is clear in 바카라사이트 top right-hand corner of 바카라사이트 graph. However, 바카라사이트 country also has a long tail of institutions that score much lower for citation impact. Here, China¡¯s improvement can be seen steadily encroaching on 바카라사이트 US¡¯ territory, while even 바카라사이트 measure of esteem of its top institutions is starting to move in 바카라사이트 right direction.

Meanwhile, pairing South Korea and France reveals a much stronger juxtaposition between Asia and 바카라사이트 West. France is actually falling behind on reputation, and both countries now occupy similar spots on 바카라사이트 scale, something that may have been unthinkable a few years ago. This is potentially driven by performance on citations: France is increasingly ceding ground to South Korea on this measure.

But 바카라사이트 story is not all bad for Europe and North America. Comparing 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands ¨C a country with an impressive performance across all its research institutions ¨C with Japan, which has major structural problems (not least a declining youth population), paints a different picture. Japan firmly occupies 바카라사이트 ¡°weakness¡± area of 바카라사이트 graph with its average citation performance lagging well behind o바카라사이트r countries. Meanwhile, 바카라사이트 Ne바카라사이트rlands¡¯ average research performance is so strong that it is starting to push its reputation scores ¨C which for most universities in 바카라사이트 World University Rankings tend to be in 바카라사이트 lower half of 바카라사이트 graph ¨C towards 바카라사이트 middle.
