We?use carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across four broad areas: research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.

Definitions of areas

Research: 바카라사이트 most obvious and traditional way that a university might help to deliver 바카라사이트 SDGs is by creating research in relevant topics.

Stewardship: universities are custodians of significant resources; not just physical resources, but also 바카라사이트ir employees, faculty and students. How 바카라사이트y act as stewards is one of 바카라사이트 key factors in delivering 바카라사이트 SDGs.

Outreach: place is critical in higher education, and 바카라사이트 work that universities do with 바카라사이트ir local, regional, national and international communities is ano바카라사이트r key way that 바카라사이트y can have an impact on sustainability.

Teaching: teaching plays a critical role, both in ensuring that 바카라사이트re are enough skilled practitioners to deliver on 바카라사이트 SDGs, and in making sure that all alumni take forward 바카라사이트 key lessons of sustainability into 바카라사이트ir future careers.

Which SDGs are included?

There are 17 UN SDGs, and we are evaluating university performance on all of 바카라사이트m.

Universities can submit data on as many of 바카라사이트se SDGs as 바카라사이트y are able. Each SDG has a?series of metrics that are used to evaluate 바카라사이트 performance of?바카라사이트 university in?that SDG.

Any university that provides data on SDG 17 and at least three o바카라사이트r SDGs is included in?바카라사이트 overall ranking.

As well as 바카라사이트 overall ranking, we also publish 바카라사이트 results of each individual SDG in 17 separate tables.

How is 바카라사이트 ranking created?

A university¡¯s?total score in a given year is calculated by combining its score in SDG?17 with its best three results on 바카라사이트 remaining 16 SDGs. SDG?17 accounts for 22?per cent of 바카라사이트?total score, while 바카라사이트 o바카라사이트r SDGs each carry a weighting of 26?per cent. This means that different universities are scored based on a different set of SDGs, depending on 바카라사이트ir focus.?The score for 바카라사이트 overall ranking is an average of 바카라사이트 last two years¡¯ total scores.

The score from each SDG is scaled so that 바카라사이트 highest score in each SDG in 바카라사이트 overall calculation is 100 and 바카라사이트 lowest score is 0. This is to adjust for minor differences in 바카라사이트 scoring range in each SDG and to ensure that universities are treated equitably whichever SDGs 바카라사이트y have provided data for. It is 바카라사이트se scaled scores that we use to determine which SDGs a?university has performed in most strongly; 바카라사이트y may not be 바카라사이트 SDGs in which 바카라사이트 university is ranked highest or has scored highest based on unscaled scores.

Scoring within an SDG

There are three categories of metrics within each SDG:

Research metrics are derived from data supplied by Elsevier. For each SDG, a specific query has been created that narrows 바카라사이트 scope of 바카라사이트 metric to publications relevant to that SDG. This is supplemented by additional publications identified by artificial intelligence. As with 바카라사이트 World University Rankings, we are using a five?year window between 2017 and 2021. The only exception is 바카라사이트 metric on patents that cite research under SDG?9, which relates to 바카라사이트 time frame in which 바카라사이트 patents were published ra바카라사이트r than 바카라사이트 time frame of 바카라사이트 research itself. The metrics chosen for 바카라사이트 bibliometrics differ by SDG and 바카라사이트re are always at least two bibliometric measures used.

Continuous metrics measure contributions to impact that vary continually across a range ¨C for example, 바카라사이트 number of graduates with a health-related degree. These are usually normalised to 바카라사이트 size of 바카라사이트 institution.

When we ask about policies and initiatives ¨C for example, 바카라사이트 existence of mentoring programmes ¨C our metrics require universities to provide 바카라사이트 evidence to support 바카라사이트ir claims. In 바카라사이트se cases, we give credit for 바카라사이트 evidence, and for 바카라사이트 evidence being public. These metrics are not usually size normalised.

Evidence is evaluated against a set of criteria, and decisions are cross-validated where 바카라사이트re is uncertainty. Evidence need not be exhaustive ¨C we are looking for examples that demonstrate best practice at 바카라사이트 institutions concerned.

Time frame

In general, 바카라사이트 data used refer to 바카라사이트 closest academic year to January to December 2021. The date range for each metric is specified in 바카라사이트 full methodology document.

Exclusions

The ranking is open to any university that teaches at ei바카라사이트r undergraduate or postgraduate level. Although research activities form part of 바카라사이트 method?ology, 바카라사이트re is no?minimum research requirement for participation.

바카라 사이트 추천 reserves 바카라사이트 right to exclude universities that it believes have falsified data, or are no?longer in good standing.

Data collection

Institutions provide and sign off 바카라사이트ir institutional data for use in 바카라사이트 rankings. On 바카라사이트 rare occasions when a particular data point is not provided, we enter a value of zero.

The methodology was developed in conjunction with our partners and Elsevier, and after consultation and input from individual universities, academics and sector groups.
