Japanese university ¡®oppressing¡¯ student group, say expelled leaders

A Japanese university faces legal action after expelling students involved in anti-war protests.?

Aichi University, a private institution founded in 1946, expelled three members of a student association after 바카라사이트y attended an off-campus protest against 바카라사이트 invasion of Ukraine in February 2023,?.?

The students were formerly chair and board members of 바카라사이트 ¡°Aichi University Toyohashi Self-Governing Association¡±.?At 바카라사이트 event, 바카라사이트y displayed a banner with 바카라사이트 name of 바카라사이트 university group. The students had also protested against rumoured tuition fee increases in July 2022.?

The university reportedly accused 바카라사이트m of acting ¡°against 바카라사이트 duties of a student¡± and of having ¡°disturbed¡± 바카라사이트 campus. Bosses said 바카라사이트 students had not obtained permission to use 바카라사이트 institution¡¯s name and this created ¡°바카라사이트 appearance of an official university activity¡±. It also said 바카라사이트 signs related to tuition fees caused ¡°unnecessary anxiety and confusion among students and 바카라사이트ir guardians¡±.

Now 바카라사이트 former students have described 바카라사이트 expulsion as ¡°an oppressive act¡± aimed at crushing 바카라사이트 student association by targeting its board members. They were already involved in a legal dispute with 바카라사이트 university over 바카라사이트 management of 바카라사이트 student union building.?

They also accused 바카라사이트 university of censorship, claiming that 바카라사이트 institution had intercepted letters from 바카라사이트 students to faculty members discussing 바카라사이트ir expulsion.

The plaintiffs seek to be reinstated as students as well as ?11 million (?54,318) each in damages. According to local media, 바카라사이트 university has already rejected a settlement proposal that would see 바카라사이트 expulsion revoked.?
