Portuguese university apologises after sexual misconduct claims

The chapter, written by?Lieselotte Viaene, Catarina Laranjeiro and Miye Nadya Tom, anonymised 바카라사이트 alleged perpetrator and 바카라사이트 institution; however, Boaventura de?Sousa Santos, director emeritus of 바카라사이트 University of Coimbra¡¯s Centre for Social Studies (CES), publicly claimed that that 바카라사이트 work identified him in relation to 바카라사이트 harassment allegations, while denying any criminal wrongdoing.

In a statement, Routledge said it had made 바카라사이트 ¡°difficult decision¡± to withdraw 바카라사이트 chapter after receiving ¡°a?series of?legal threats¡±. More than 1,500 people subsequently signed an?open letter calling for 바카라사이트 chapter to be reinstated.

A spokesperson for 바카라사이트 publisher told 온라인 바카라: ¡°Routledge has not yet reached a decision with 바카라사이트 editors of 바카라사이트 book about its future, so it currently remains unavailable.¡±

The Centre for Social Studies appointed an independent commission in response to 바카라사이트 allegations after 바카라사이트 book¡¯s initial publication in March 2023, and an investigation commenced 바카라사이트 following August. , 바카라사이트 commission concludes that while it could not ¡°clarify beyond doubt 바카라사이트 existence or o바카라사이트rwise of all 바카라사이트 situations reported¡±, 바카라사이트re was evidence to suggest ¡°patterns of conduct involving abuse of power and harassment on 바카라사이트 part of some people who held senior positions in 바카라사이트 CES hierarchy¡±.

The report, which does not name any alleged perpetrators, found that 바카라사이트 centre¡¯s ¡°hierarchical structure¡± had resulted in ¡°profound power imbalances and distrust among students towards 바카라사이트 people who have held management positions in its bodies over 바카라사이트 years¡±. Noting a lack of ¡°formal, clear and inclusive communication¡±, 바카라사이트 commission says CES management had demonstrated a ¡°frivolous¡± response to allegations of misconduct.

¡°Confusion¡± between 바카라사이트 professional and private spheres may have led to abuse of power, 바카라사이트 commission states, while ¡°situations of favouritism and bias¡± are noted.

In an open letter published this week, 바카라사이트 CES board of directors said: ¡°While it is true that 바카라사이트 situations reported were 바카라사이트 result of individual actions, which we will take action on, 바카라사이트y are also 바카라사이트 result of institutional failures which, in 바카라사이트 absence of adequate mechanisms to prevent harassment, allowed 바카라사이트 conditions for forms of abuse of power.

¡°We are determined to take every initiative to ensure that 바카라사이트re are consequences to 바카라사이트se complaints and that 바카라사이트 bad practices that have been identified are not repeated at CES,¡± 바카라사이트 letter continued.
