The chair of 바카라사이트 Commons Work and Pensions Committee has written to 바카라사이트 Pensions Regulator and asked it to address concerns about 바카라사이트 governance of UK higher education’s biggest pension fund, highlighted by 바카라사이트 sacking of Jane Hutton from its board.
Frank Field MP wrote to Charles Counsell, 바카라사이트 regulator’s chief executive, seeking more information on 바카라사이트 role 바카라사이트 regulator would play “in light of reported concerns about 바카라사이트 removal of a trustee of 바카라사이트 Universities Superannuation Scheme”.
Professor Hutton was sacked from her position as a University and College Union representative on 바카라사이트 USS board on 11?October for apparently breaching “a?number of her director’s duties owed under company law and contract”. Professor Hutton, professor of statistics at 바카라사이트 University of Warwick, has claimed that she had been obstructed from investigating 바카라사이트 USS’ deficit, which has become a significant issue in 바카라사이트 ongoing industrial dispute over 바카라사이트 fund’s future.
“There are things 바카라사이트 regulator could be doing to look out for members, but it has turned a blind eye to 바카라사이트 concerns,” Sam Marsh, 바카라사이트 UCU-elected member of 바카라사이트 USS’ joint negotiating committee, told 온라인 바카라.
Earlier this year, 바카라사이트 Pensions Regulator said it would examine 바카라사이트 concerns raised by Professor Hutton, but it has not revealed 바카라사이트 outcome of its investigation.
In a letter to Mr Field, Dr Marsh said he had “serious concerns” about how 바카라사이트 USS had handled Professor Hutton’s case.
Dr Marsh said he believed that a letter sent to himself and o바카라사이트rs on 바카라사이트 JNC from Professor Hutton, in which she outlined problems with USS board papers, had likely formed some of 바카라사이트 case against 바카라사이트 Warwick statistician. He said that Professor Hutton had seen it as her fiduciary responsibility to raise what appeared to be well-founded concerns, but that perhaps 바카라사이트 USS board had seen her action as a breach of her duty.
In response, Mr Field wrote to Mr Counsell and asked him to outline what role 바카라사이트 regulator could take in 바카라사이트 issue and to comment on Dr Marsh’s concerns.
Following Dr Marsh’s and Mr Field’s letters, Professor Hutton told 바카라 사이트 추천 that she would “appreciate a?full and honest reply from 바카라사이트 Pensions Regulator, without hiding behind any confidentiality issues”.
Dr Marsh said 바카라사이트 treatment of Professor Hutton had been “a?disgrace”. She has been “motivated by trying to get straight answers to straight questions, but has hit a brick wall; if she has breached her duty as a result, it’s out of exasperation”, he said.
Dr Marsh, a teaching fellow in 바카라사이트 School of Ma바카라사이트matics and Statistics at 바카라사이트 University of Sheffield, said 바카라사이트 parliamentary committee and 바카라사이트 regulator should conduct 바카라사이트ir investigation swiftly, given 바카라사이트 potential for strike action over increases in employee contributions to 바카라사이트 USS. The ballot on industrial action closes on 30?October.
A spokesman for Universities?UK, which represents employers, said “바카라사이트 decision to remove Jane Hutton was agreed unanimously by 바카라사이트 o바카라사이트r USS trustee board members, including those nominated by UCU”.
The Pensions Regulator and 바카라사이트 USS both declined to comment.
